Because death is inevitable for all of us, many people want to make their final
wishes known to their family and the funeral home of their choice. Some also wish
to pay their final expenses in advance. Those who do so benefit from a tremendous
peace of mind, as well as being able to protect themselves against inflationary
price increases. These individuals are able to make their exact wishes known, thus
sparing their survivors from having to make the final decisions and the possibility
of having to bear the resulting costs.
By pre-paying for a funeral plan, one is able to set aside money that is intended
to be used for final expenses and also qualify for certain government programs
such as Medicaid, Social Security Supplemental Income, and Title 19 (nursing home
care). Current Wisconsin laws permit the use of either a bank/credit union fund
or an insurance plan. Interest is earned until the individual's death and then
the money becomes available to the funeral home for payment of the specified funeral
goods and services. Both traditional funerals and cremation oriented services
may be funded in this manner.
The Buswell Funeral Home is proud to use the services of Dan Gilles, a licensed
insurance representative and formerly of Black River Falls. Dan is authorized
to sell Fortis Family pre-need insurance on behalf of Buswell Funeral Home. Fortis
Family is one of the nation's largest providers of pre-need funeral insurance.
Dan Gilles, Charles and Ruth Buswell have years of experience in pre-need funeral
planning. They can meet with you at the funeral home or in the comfort and privacy
of your own home. During your pre-planning session, the separate advantages of
either purchasing a bank program or an insurance plan, or a combination of both,
will be carefully explained.
Realizing that each person's situation is unique, Dan, Charles or Ruth can
explain the many options, product selections, and types of financing that
are available. Please call 715-284-2231 or e-mail
us to arrange for a personalized, no obligation, pre-need planning conference.
